Farm Girls Gather

Robin was our host for this Farm Girl gathering get together, her front porch was so inviting, you just wanted to go up on the porch and sit a while. However we had an agenda and lots of creating to do. We made signs for our garden and homes. Taking home our creations to place in just the right spot.
Here are three of our farm girls, we were very happy to be able to get together after a long break over the summer.
The table was set for a perfect garden party. Lunch was wonderful and refreshing.
Robin's husband serenaded us with his ukulele that he made from old cigar boxes, it was way cool, I might even want to take up that instrument. Thanks Mark.
We ventured out side and went down to the area that Robin has as a shade garden, complete with a deck and table and chairs. We shared our journal pages from our last gathering which was way back in June, when we went to Farm Chicks in Spokane, Washington. It has been so much fun to see how everyone puts their page together, eventually we will be able to have a book to store them. We shared our apron stories and then went down to the garden.
This was Katy's journal page, if you click on the photo you can read it better, she told the whole story of our trip to Farm Chicks in a poetic way. Thank you Katy.
Here is Erin, Katy and Robin down in this little secret shady area, with the heat of the day being so hot it felt really good here.
This tree was amazing, it was huge, Robin said she thinks it was hit by lightening sometime and it split apart forming this piece of art.
Robin took us for a tour of her garden, she definitely knows what she is doing in that garden, check out the sunflowers they are way taller than Katy and Erin. Wow! Robin said they are the Mammoth variety. I could wish to grow some that big some day.
This sunflower was in all its glory shining down on all of us.
The table was set with all the supplies we might need to make our signs, along with some goodies to take home.
Here we are working on our signs, as you can see mine was blank I had to think for a while what I wanted to write.
Erin's was perfect, she is very experienced at making signs, and I do know that she has been canning and cooking like crazy.
Katy made these great signs, that she is going to put along a pathway to the river, they will be perfect, I think.
Harvest, that is what Robin has been doing with her garden, we are all very envious. Check out her apron she made it from a pair of old jeans, we all what to make a apron like this one. It would be very practical for working outside, especially don't you think?
We all know I like vintage aprons, so it was a given that I would make those signs.
Here we are with all our signs together, we had so much fun. Thank you Robin for hosting this gathering.

  11. What a wonderful idea for a small gathering of good friends! And how better to spend the day! It always amazes me how much fun those types of days are and yet how seldom we women make time for them. You'd think it would be a lot easier to make it a habit!!
